55 inch 1080i LED TV
This set uses interlaced image. This means that while it is otherwise just as good as the 1080p set, the way it scans the image is a little different. If you’re new to this jargon about 1080p and 1080i and so on, it works like this… P stands for progressive and I stands for interlaced. With progressive scan, you get marginally better picture quality as the tiny pixel that runs along your screen faster than you can blink will draw each line of pixels from the top down. With interlaced, it skips every other line before doubling back to complete the image.
So yeah, if you’re really straining your eyes and playing it in slow motion trying to see it, you’ll notice the difference. If you’re just kicking back and watching the game, you won’t. It’s a very minute difference, but it’s your cash, so it’s your call.
